International Sports Sciences Association Certified Fitness Trainer, AED/CPR Certified
I attended Lake Land Community College where I tried out several different majors. I finally found my passion in Health Education. After two years of hard work I received my Associates degree. I then transferred to Eastern Illinois University and earned a bachelor of science degree with a concentration in exercise science. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to become a graduate assistant with the adult fitness program at E.I.U.
Graduate school was the most difficult yet rewarding time in my life. Working in the adult fitness department meant early mornings and many long evenings, but I wouldn't change it for anything. The people I met and the knowledge I accumulated will be with me forever. My hard work finally paid off in August of 2010 when I received my master's in science with a concentration in exercise physiology.
After college I worked to obtain my personal training certification through the International Sports Science Association and achieved my goal in no time. I now train full time at Kinex Fitness Studios! I believe Kinex, with its unique studio design and its focus on training space and equipment, will make me a better and more valuable trainer so that my clients can get the absolute most out of their workouts!
Besides fitness, my other real passion is singing. Eversince I can remember, I've always enjoyed belting tunes out at the top of my lungs. Whether it was musicals in high school or performing in my cover band "Decade Late" being a vocalist is something that has always come naturally. So rest assured your training session with me will be, "nothing but a good time!"

Les Mills Certified Instructor: BODYPUMP, BODYJAM, BODYFLOW, CXWORX, SH'BAM
Movement has always been one of my passions in life. Through earlier years and high school I loved to ice skate, run, lift weights, and dance competitively. As a young wife and mother of two girls, I found myself about 30 pounds past my "feel good" weight. Finally, I was so unhappy in my own skin that I promised myself I would change my lifestyle, with hopes it would stick for our entire family as well (as it did!). I joined a gym and quickly fell in love with group fitness, and Les Mills BODYPUMP in particular. This format and the instructors who teach it inspired me to get certified as a BODYPUMP instructor in December of 2014 and pay forward the joy and success that people can find with group fitness - physically, spiritually, and mentally. I love connecting with participants so much that I kept working to achieve additional group fitness certifications and love every single one of them and how they impact peoples' lives for the better! Seeing participants succeed, and do things they may not even think themselves capable of, is what drives me - and this passion to work even more closely, one on one with clients, is what led me to seek certification as a personal trainer. I know the feeling of being uncomfortable and unhappy in your skin, as well as the joy, happiness, confidence, and so much more that comes from being at a happy place in your own skin. It's my passion to help anyone with the desire to make positive changes for their health and fitness set goals and SMASH them!! You can do anything you set your mind to, and are willing to work for. ANYTHING!! I'm living proof of this and excited to keep paying that forward!
When I am not training or teaching group fitness classes, you can find me in any number of places! With my family: telling corny jokes to my amazing husband, Danny, and trying to keep up with our two energetic daughters, Taytum and Malayna. I'm a proud Girl Scout Troop Leader for both daughters' troops and led both since their conception years in Kindergarten. My favorite place away from home is somewhere on a beach, playing in the sand and sunshine, frolicking in the waves, with a good book at the ready in the beach bag...but I love to travel anywhere, following the mantra: Carpe Diem!

Certified P90X Trainer
After majoring in Marketing at the University of Southern Illinois in Carbondale I entered the insurance world for 15 years. In that time I slowly gained weight and found myself obese, out of shape, and pushing 300 lbs. I was hypertensive, in horrible shape, and knew I needed to make a change for my family. With realistic workouts and nutritional changes I lost 75 lbs, completely transformed my body, and found my passion in health and fitness. I was featured as a success story in Mens Fitness Magazine, filmed for the P90X infomercial, and have been a guest on many radio shows including WGN in Chicago.
My success as a part time personal trainer allowed me to eventually leave my career in insurance and become a full time personal trainer. Waking up and doing what I love every day has been such a huge blessing in my life. My weight loss journey taught me so much but most importantly it taught me how to empathize and be patient with those who have lots of weight to lose. I have helped so many clients lose 50, 100, 200, even 450+ lbs with nothing more than exercise and nutrition. Helping others do what I did is my passion! Teaching people that it can be done without extreme workout programs or extreme diets is the cherry on top! My goal is to get you to view exercise as a way to enhance your life, not inhibit it.
Spending time with my wife and daughters is always #1. In my spare time I also coach the Jefferson Archery team, mentor for CU one-to-one mentoring program, and I'm a Project Athletes Coach for the Jefferson Middle School locker room

B.S. Degree in Exercise Science from EIU
I began my journey at Parkland where I discovered my love and passion for Kinesiology. After earning my Associates degree and completing the personal training program I transferred to Eastern Illinois University. While completing my coursework with EIU I was required to complete a hands-on internship. I was lucky enough to be selected as an intern with Kinex Fitness Studios and it was the perfect fit for me to learn and apply my classroom knowledge in a real-world environment. The experience and knowledge I have gained from the trainers and clients at Kinex Fitness Studios has helped me become a better trainer and individual. I look forward to my career as a personal trainer at Kinex Fitness Studios and to helping clients reach their goals and break through plateaus.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love learning about new and upcoming research in any field as well as new and practical ways to go about my life. I also enjoy my hobby of driving a race car on the weekends with my family.

I started at Parkland College with a major in graphic design. After one semester I realized it was not for me so I decided to look into the fitness industry. I graduated from Parkland College in 2013 with an Associates in Science. After Parkland I transferred to Eastern Illinois University and received my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) in 2015. After graduating I began my internship as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Eastern Illinois University working with and training athletes. Once my internship was complete I got the opportunity to work at Kinex Fitness Studios as a personal trainer and I love being a part of the Kinex team!
When I am not training, you can find me spending time with friends and family. Growing up I played numerous sports but baseball was always my passion. I pitched and played shortstop for 16 years before I developed arm problems causing me to stop playing. I am a diehard Atlanta Braves and Green Bay Packers fan, Go Pack Go!
NSCA Certified Personal Trainer, Certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED, Certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider
My interest in fitness began while I was completing my Associate's Degree in Science. I began working out and became interested in the functions as well as the potential of the human body. I completed the Personal Fitness Training program at Parkland College and started training clients immediately after. I also mentor future graduates of the Personal Fitness Training program during their clinical training hours. I'm beginning the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Parkland College with the goal of becoming an OTA. I look forward to helping clients reach their fitness and life goals!
I'm from a small town called Hinckley two hours north of Urbana. Besides working out, I enjoy socializing with friends and participating in activities and events in the area. Other things I enjoy are cleaning and organizing while listening to music or catching up on my favorite shows.
